Most wonderful experience we have had in a long time. The Daddy Long Legs Art Hotel as a diffrent look and feel to any other hotel we have ever been to. A must stay over for every young person and even for people like us that is still young at heart. I will stay there a 100 times over from the Art Hotel right through to the Self Catering Appartments.
The fact that each room in the Art Hotel is decorated by a diffrent artist is the most exciting thing in the world. I just saw the Levi's room but can't wait to book into the other 11 rooms just to live in the exiting experience.
It is an affordable & contemporary hotel located in the heart of town. Every room has a unique design and celebrates the talent of local artists. It has a 24 hour reception and the staff is friendly and helpful. It has an information guide in every room, and it offers good advice and tips to foreign visitors.
My room (called Please do not disturb) had an Astroturf floor and a staineless steel loo without a lid. I was not sure how they clean the floor and I cringed every time I flushed the loo. I could not help imagining the germs flying from the bowl to the floor! Not all of the props mentioned in the decor section of the info guide were in the room and the decor is close to its sell-by date. There is plenty of off-street parking available, but it is free only from 5pm to 8am. We had to get up early every morning to pay the roaming parking fee collector and at R9 per hour it is not cheap! They have two bays available at a nearby hospital, which you have to pre-book.
Location was excellent- staff friendly and helpfull- especially when we locked our valuables in the safe and couldn't get it open again!
Bedspread was a bit dirty- no towel racks in bathrooms.
The staff, the free beverages and internet were a plus. 24 hour reception, friendly welcome and very unique setting.
The noise on long street, although not the hotels fault, maybe some better sound insulation?
The staff at the Hotel where tremendous, and location good and the room's interesting
As good as the hotel is i did believe it to be overpriced for what facilites there are
The rooms are simply fantastic - every one is different and I only wish I could stay in them all!
art design, nice personal, no nose, good location
very small room, there wasnt hairdryer, no breakfast
I enjoyed the stay together with my husband. The location and the hotel itself is amazing. Great service, great rooms!
The staff was exemplary at this hotel, they were like friends, always ready to suggest, make bookings for you etc. Ask for Este, she was truly extraordinary. The rooms are cosy and comfortable and so were the bathrooms.
This is not a luxury, five star hotel...so if one is expecting that sort of pampering then this hotel is the wrong choice. For me this hotel was perfect value for money, comfortable and ideally located.
It's a cosy boutique hotel, with a nice and informal personel, right in the heart of Cape Town, just a few steps away from all the shops, bars and restaurants in Long Street. The cafe below the hotel is the best recommendation for most delicious breakfast or lunch in the city.
The location was convenient to the International Convention Center in Cape Town which hosted the meeting I was attending. The hotel is in the central downtown district of shopping and dining. The rooms are clean and artistically appointed. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was a nice, clean and quiet place in the center of town to enjoy a great trip to Cape Town.
Location Staff Welcome Drink Design
Stylish rooms, good location
A bit worn, needs refurbishment, staff not very helpful in other bookings
The unique style and friendliness of staff.
The staff was very nice and helpful, in addition to offering a welcome drink on the balcony facing Long St, they took our clothes to the dry-cleaner and stored it in their office for a week (while we were gone doing the Garden Route). They also changed our rooms so that we got to see a couple of the fab rooms in the hotel.
